How do I initiate the Submission process?

To submit a manuscript you just follow these steps:
1) go to the journal website and click on the REGISTER tab at the top of the page
2) complete the form – remember to register as an 'Author' at the bottom of the form –
and when ready, complete by clicking the green button 'REGISTER'
3) go to 'LOG IN' and enter your Username and Password
4) you will see the screen with User Home and your registered role 'Author' (possible several
roles depending on your profile in the system)
5) click on 'Author'
6) this will show a new screen with 'Active Submissions' – below you will see
'Start a New Submission' – click on 'CLICK HERE to go to step one of the....'

I have login details but I still cannot initiate the submission process!

To submit a paper you need to take on the role as Author in the system. If you
already have login details (username and password) do the following:
1) log in to journal website
2) in User Home, click on Edit My Profile below My Account
3) scroll down to Roles and tick the box for Author
4) click Save
You are now taken back to User Home and now you should see the new role as Author.
Click on the link and you will be taken to the page Active Submissions.
Click on the link CLICK HERE to initiate the submission process

Where do I upload the cover letter?

The accompanying or cover letter to the Editor can be uploaded during Step 4 of the submission
process – Upload Figure / Supplementary Files. You can also copy and paste your cover letter
text during Step 1 - Comments for the Editor. For further support see the file Author

Where do I upload figures and tables?

You can upload your figures and tables during Step 4 of the submission process - Upload
Figure / Supplementary Files. You can upload as many files as you wish, but remember to give them
appropriate titles; Figure 1, Table 1 etc

Where do I upload a blinded copy of my manuscript?

If you submit a paper to a journal with a double-blind review procedure you have the
following two options: a) upload a complete manuscript, including identities of authors etc during
Step 3 of the submission process – Upload Submission – and, in addition a 'blinded' version
during Step 4 of the submission process - Upload Figure / Supplementary Files, giving the
file the title 'Blinded version of submission', or b) upload only the blinded version during Step 3 of
the submission process – Upload Submission – since you have given complete author information during
the previous step, Step 2. 'Enter Metadata'

Where do I upload a revised figure?

You upload the revised figures in the same area as you upload the revised manuscript, in the
Review area of your paper. You log in and click on your role as Author. Click on the title
of your manuscript and you will be directed to the applicable area, in this case Review.
At the bottom of the page you will see Author version below the heading Editor Decision.
You can upload as many files as you wish, locate the file/s and press Upload.

I have problems to upload a revised version of my manuscript?

You upload the revised manuscript in the Review area of your paper. You log in and click on your
role as Author. Click on the title of your manuscript and you will be directed to the
applicable area, in this case Review. At the bottom of the page you will see
Author version below the heading Editor Decision. Locate the file/s and press
Upload. -> back

I cannot reach the manuscript I am supposed to review?

In the email, Request to Review, you have received from the Editor/Section Editor, there
will be a link. If you click on this link it will take you directly to the Review area of the manuscript,
without the need for logging in. At the top of the page you will see the Submission to be reviewed
including the title and the abstract. Further down on the same page you will see Review Steps
were the review can be initiated. In Step 1 you indicate that you accept to
review by clicking on the icon for Accept to Review which will generate an email to the
Editor for notification. Now you will be able to see the manuscript file name and when you click
on this link you will be able to download and review the manuscript.
In case you are not taken to the Review-page of the manuscript the reason could be:
a) the link has been broken by the email server/set-up. If this is the case, please log in to the
website using your login details. If you do not have your username and password for the journal's
web site, you can go to the journal website and click on the link Forgot your password?
Enter your email address and a password will be emailed to you along with your username.
b) if you are only taken back to the Log in page, there could be a browser problem. In that case,
adjust the security and privacy settings in Internet Explorer to Medium and try again.

Where do I upload comments/replies to the reviewers?

You upload the comments/replies in the Review area of your paper. You log in and click on your role as Author. Click on the title of your manuscript and you will be directed to the applicable area, in this case Review. At the bottom of the page you will see Author version below the heading Editor Decision. Locate the file/s on your desk/hard drive and press Upload.

Where do I find the page proofs of my article and were do I give my comments/corrections to the proofs?

You should leave your comments in the Proofreading area. Log in, go to Editing, scroll
down to Layout and you will see the proofs below the Galley Format section – VIEW PROOF.
Click on the link to read and download the page proof. Below the Layout area you see
Proofreading and at the bottom you find the place for Proofreading corrections.
Click on the icon to the right of the text, give your comments and press Save.
You will find guidelines if you click on the link PROOFING INSTRUCTIONS.

I cannot log in, I am only referred back to the login page!

This could be a browser problem – mainly with Internet Explorer version 7. Please adjust the
Security and Privacy settings in Internet Explorer to Medium or Medium High and retry to log in.

The link given is not working?

The reason why a link does not work could be either:
a) the link has been broken by the email server/set-up. If this is the case, please log in to the
website using your login details. If you do not remember your username and/or password, you can go
to the journal website and click on the link Forgot your password? Enter your email address
and a password will be emailed to you along with your username. Use these details and log in again.
b) a browser problem (especially if you enter your username and password but is only referred back
to the Log in page). In that case, adjust the security and privacy settings in Internet Explorer to
Medium and try again.

How do I register with the journal?

To register with a journal please follow these steps:
a) go to the applicable website and click on the 'REGISTER' icon in the upper navigation bar
b) complete the form* and when ready save by clicking the green button 'REGISTER'
c) now, go to LOG IN and use your Username and Password
d) you will see the screen with User Home and your registered role in the system - possible
several roles depending on your registration in the system
* the default 'role' when register is Reader. If you wish to submit a paper you have to take the role as Author as well. At the bottom of the registration form you can register as Author and/or Reader, check applicable option.

How can I be removed from the Alert list?

You can be removed from the users list at any time. Just email to support@co-action.net and indicate the journal title and your name.
